Well that was fun...
May. 20th, 2008 02:41 pmI just had my annual check up. New doctor, so there was a lot of history taking. I've been having joint pain lately so I asked him to look at my ankles and hips. He said everything looked more-or-less OK, so the pain in the other joints is most likely related to the existing problems with my knees. I need to loose weight and be more active.
Then he announced that they were going to take some blood for various test. Cholesterol, thyroid, and I don't know what else. I was expecting a pinprick, maybe a test tube worth. No, they took over an ounce (the tech described it as "about a shot glass").
Then, as I was going through the check out procedure, I nearly passed out. My vision went blurry/gray, my knees buckled, and my hearing went wonky. It felt exactly like the one time I did really faint. The staff shoved a chair behind me and gave me water and a sugar pill and made me sit down until I felt better. Once I did feel better I came straight home.
