Restarting Project Improve Me:
May. 3rd, 2010 11:17 amIn the interest of trying to be healthier, I'm trying (again) to make some changes to my life:
1) STOP EATING AT MCDONALD'S EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! OK, I don't do it every day, but 9 out of 10 is still too high.
2) Take a walk every day. At the park if the weather is good, at the mall if it's not.
3) Start yoga or some other very gentle, more about stretching than anything else exercise. Probably with videos until I'm reasonably sure it's something I want to do enough to spend the money on a class.

Date: 2010-05-03 07:56 pm (UTC)I've got other tricks for eating smart on a busy schedule (I'm a grad student, and typically have to eat out/on the road frequently), so if you'd like some ideas, let me know. :-)

Date: 2010-05-03 09:30 pm (UTC)Breakfast at McDonald's can be done, but you've got to be disciplined. A plain Egg McMuffin is 6.5 points, only 300 calories. Not too bad, so long as you don't get anything else. Add a sausage to it and the counts double. Getting a bagel also ups the count.
There are ways to get creative as well. Hash browns by themselves are only 3 points, 140 calories. Add fruit to that and it's a pretty good breakfast. I've done that one before on my way in to school. :-)
